The Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) recently published a global index on workplace performance and flexibility. The study looks at three measures: economic performance, operating environment as well as workplace policy and regulatory frameworks and their influence on business productivity.
It is interesting to note Australia’s operating environment is ranked as 8th best in the world, but our policy and regulatory framework places down at 19. Our national economic performance is ranked at 34 and the results highlight Australia’s uneven productivity record over the last ten years relative to our global competitors.
