What is a psychological assessment?

A psychological assessment uses validated, evidence-based tools to understand how an individual typically thinks, behaves, relates to others and approaches work.
It may assess areas such as behaviour, personality, cognitive ability, emotional intelligence and motivation, providing objective insights to support selection, development, succession and career decisions.

Why would our organisation use this service?

Organisations use psychological assessments to reduce hiring and promotion risk, identify high-potential talent, strengthen leadership capability and support more objective, defensible people decisions.
When used well, assessments improve performance, retention and engagement by aligning people to roles, teams and organisational context,  replacing guesswork with valid insight.

How is the psychometric assessment conducted?

Assessments typically involve a combination of validated psychometric tools and where appropriate, structured interviews and behavioural or work-based exercises.
All results are interpreted by qualified assessors, ensuring insights are accurate, ethical and translated into practical, actionable recommendations.

How long does an assessment take?

Most individual assessments take between 40–120 minutes to complete, followed by analysis, reporting and a feedback session. We are mindful of participant time and design assessments to be thorough without being burdensome.

What kind of results will we receive?

 Clients receive a clear, evidence-based report and verbal debrief outlining key strengths, development areas, behavioural tendencies, cognitive patterns and potential risks.
Debriefs include practical recommendations for development, coaching, desired company culture and role fit and leadership impact.

Are these assessments suitable for all roles?

 Yes. While not all tools are appropriate for every role, our approach is tailored to role requirements, seniority and organisational context to ensure relevance, fairness and accuracy.

How soon can we get results?

Timeframes are confirmed upfront so expectations are clear for all parties.

Are the assessments fair and unbiased?

We use validated tools with strong evidence of reliability, fairness and predictive validity. Assessments are applied consistently and interpreted by accredited assessors trained to recognise and minimise bias.
No assessment is used in isolation, results are considered alongside experience, performance and context.

Do assessments replace interviews or performance data?
